Product Engineer

We’re hiring product engineers from early career to Staff levels. You’ll turn customer problems into useful, intuitive features across Opsin’s security platform, with scope and ownership calibrated to your experience. You’ll work closely with customers, product, founders, and engineering teammates to understand how people use Opsin, identify what matters most, and build solutions that help them understand and act on AI risk. You’ll take work end to end — from shaping the problem and exploring solutions through implementation, launch, and iteration — with as much care for the customer experience as for the code behind it.

Must-haves

• 3+ years building and shipping production software (we’ll level based on experience)
• Strong product judgment — the key capability for this role — with the ability to understand a customer’s underlying problem, weigh tradeoffs, and choose a simple, effective solution
• Experience delivering customer-facing features across the stack, with solid fundamentals in frontend development, APIs, and data modeling
• Care for interaction design and usability, including clear information hierarchy, useful feedback, and thoughtful handling of exceptional states
• Experience taking work from an ambiguous idea through delivery and iteration, in close collaboration with customers or customer-facing teammates
• A practical approach to testing, reliability, performance, and security

Helpful experience

• Building enterprise or data-intensive products that make complex information easy to understand and act on
• React, TypeScript, NestJS, Python, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies
• Customer discovery, prototyping, and using qualitative feedback and product usage data to guide decisions
• Cybersecurity, data security, identity, permissions, or AI systems
• Using AI coding tools thoughtfully as a high leverage part of your engineering workflow
